Our Story

Founded in 2023 by Vanissa Law and Andy Young, Castle Voices is a community-based choir located in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. We are a diverse and inclusive vocal group that brings together people from all walks of life to share in the joy of collective music-making. We rehearse weekly and perform regularly at community events, local festivals, care homes, schools, and cultural venues.

Castle Voices is a non-audition choir. We believe that everyone has a voice and that singing together fosters connection, confidence, and creativity.

Our Aims

Castle Voices exists to bring people in and around the Carrickfergus area together through the shared experience of choir singing. We aim to create an open and welcoming space where individuals can take part in group singing, regardless of their background or level of experience.

Through regular rehearsals and performances, we support our members in developing their vocal and performance skills, building confidence, and growing as singers. But we’re not just about music—we’re about community. By sharing our music with others, we aim to enrich the cultural life of the local area and make the arts more accessible to everyone.

As a not-for-profit organisation, all income and resources are used solely to support our goals. No profits are distributed among members—everything goes back into the choir to help us grow and thrive.

We’re also passionate about promoting a wider appreciation of choral music. Through concerts, recitals, and other community events, we aim to inspire a love of singing and help more people experience the joy and power of music.
